Choosing a study program can be difficult for many reasons. What are you good at? What are you bored of? What careerpaths are lucrative right now? What professions will be needed in the future? So many questions to consider. Here are some signs that you actually chose well and will likely have a prosperous career ahead of you.
- You enjoy what you study (mostly)
Sure, there are subjects you enjoy more and there are others that are not super thrilling, but if you are generally happy and excited to be a student on your program, you proudly tell people what you study and you enjoy getting into conversations about your favourite matters- then most likely you are on the right path. - You have good examples in front of you
If you have friends, colleagues or family members with the same career path that are happy with their professional life & they insipire you too, that’s a sign that you are in good company. - You can imagine yourself working in your chosen field
If you are studying a material and you feel like it’s useful and you can imagine doing it as your everyday work, that’s a good sign too. - Your difficulties don’t deter you
Surely you’ll have your fair share of difficulties, just like everyone else. A particularly difficult subject? A seemingly impossible exam? A rejection from your first job application? If you chose right, these hurdles shouldn’t discourage you- in fact, they’ll make stronger on the long term. - You can’t wait to further your education or start working
If you chose well, you should also be excited about the next steps to come. Surely, getting an admissions to Masters program of landing your first job might not be easy, but nevertheless- it’s the next big adventure that awaits you.
