Description of the Program
Designed for future technology leaders, this program focuses on transforming vast data into intelligent action. You will learn to analyze big data and construct the information systems that provide users with adaptive, smart services. As a graduate, you’ll be capable of implementing software that supports immediate, evidence-based decisions. The course covers critical infrastructure like scalable databases and distributed computing, alongside applied skills in business intelligence, data visualization, and integrating machine learning into real-time processes.
This program builds student competency across three core pillars:
Foundational Mastery: Students build a robust foundation in data science principles, including programming, mathematics, statistics, ethics, and security. This includes deep knowledge of data types, transformations, optimization, multivariate statistics, and machine learning—the essential toolkit for innovation and research.
Technical Expertise: Students acquire advanced skills in scalable data collection and analysis. They learn to utilize and develop tools for the entire data lifecycle: capture, processing, storage, transfer, analysis, and visualization, alongside related concepts like data access, pricing, and privacy.
Applied Proficiency: Students become proficient with current technologies for analysis and modeling, learning to apply them to real-world scenarios—including those involving large-scale data. They gain familiarity with techniques and tool ecosystems for storing, processing, and visualizing big data.
