Life after COVID: Many international students plan to study abroad

The pandemic made almost everything harder, and travelling & studying abroad were definitely among those. Now, with an end in sight already, international students are once again flocking towards foreign universities for higher education.

Even during the Coronavirus pandemic, most students who had previously planned international studies stayed with their plans and tried to get admission to overseas universities. However, most were concerned about new difficulties that COVID-19 brought with itself, such as less interaction with peers and professors, harder to visit family and friends back home and overall less added value from international studies.
From 2022 however, the pandemic seems to slow down which will hopefully help colleges and universities around the World to open back up completely and resume on-campus work.
Most universities have already reported a higher number of applications for 2022. The most popular countries remain the USA, UK, Canada and Australia, but other non-English speaking countries enjoy popularity as well, such as Poland, Hungary and the Nordic countries in Europe. Eastern-Europe stays in the top with its affordable and high-quality teaching programs, which can be an excellent answer for post-COVID uncertainties and financial constraints.
The top three fields to study abroad remain Engineering, Business and Computer Science, as these programs offer the best employability options in the future.
