2023: a record-breaking year in Hungarian tourism

According to the Hungarian Tourism Agency, the tourism sector in the country outperformed 2022, reaching or even surpassing the pre-COVID numbers. This past year alone, Hungary welcomed 16 million tourists, out of which over 7 million were internationals, and they spent 43 million nights altogether. Over 2.2 billion EUR was generated by the tourism sector, just from the nights spent (accommodation) alone.

The goal is to welcome 20 million guests annually by the end of the decade, with over 50 million nights spent. This means even more possiblities in the tourism sector.
