University Foundation Programs

At Budapest International College, we provide you with University Foundation programs prior to starting your studies one of our partner universities.

A Foundation program is 

  • strongly advised if you have not developed confidence in Maths or English or you have not gained sufficient education in Maths-related subjects during your high school.
  • compulsory if you do not meet the requirements of the university you are applying to and you do not pass the online Maths test as part of the admission process OR you don’t have a minimum level of B2 of English (assessed during the admissions interview).

Please note: as of now, all BIC students must continue their education at one of our partner universities, we do not provide standalone preparatory or foundation programs. All Conditional and Final acceptance letters are signed by the respective university, which makes you eligible for a study visa. In case you decide not to continue your studies at the respective BIC partner university, your residence permit will be revoked and you must leave Hungary immediately.

BIC Bachelors Programs

University Foundation Program – Engineering and IT Track (Previously called: Professional Track) (Two semesters)

Engineering and IT Foundation programs are designed for you, if you wish to study engineering or IT at one of our partner universities, but your professional skills (Math, IT, Physics etc.) are not yet on a level to start a university program. Our admission staff will evaluate your eligibility for Bachelor’s level studies during the online admission interview and Math & Physics test. If you need to improve your skills before starting the Bachelor’s program, they will guide you to this Foundation program.

This is a crucial step before starting university, as engineering and IT and science programs are extremely advanced, and require a high level of professional preparedness. Don’t worry though; our professors have a long experience in introducing you to even the most complicated tech skills, thus you will start your university years full of confidence.

Our Foundation programs are tailor-made for all study fields, thus you will learn the specific skills that will be the most important for you at the university later on.

Tuition fee: 3000 EUR/semester

BIC foundation- business

University Foundation Program - Business track (Two semesters)

University Foundation Program – Business track is designed for you, if you wish to study any Bachelor’s program related to business, management or International Relations at one of our business university partner programs but your professional skills (Maths, IT, English etc.) are not yet on a level to start a university program. The BIC admission staff will evaluate your eligibility for Bachelor’s level studies during the online admission interview and Maths test. If you need to improve your skills before starting the Bachelor’s program, they will guide you to their University Foundation Program organised by Budapest International College.

University Foundation Program – English Track (Two semesters)

All BIC partner programs are taught in English, thus you need at least a B2 level of English. In case our admission staff decides that your command of English is not enough to start the Bachelor’s program straight away, you need to pass a 1-or 2- semester long English language preparatory program at BIC before joining your chosen study program.

During the preparatory semester(s), you will attend English and professional English, classes, where the main goal is to improve your general preparedness for studying engineering, IT or business in Europe. Our professors are all helpful and supportive English and culture teachers, who will help you obtain the necessary skills in a short amount of time. We will make sure that your reading, writing and speaking skills all improve and you can be confident in studying even complicated subjects in English.

English Foundation in Budapest

Intensive University Foundation Program – (One semester)

During our Super intensive Prep and Foundation Program, you can learn all necessary skills you need to start your Bachelor’s program. During these months our excellent professors will prepare you for everything that awaits you in the first semesters of your university studies. Professional English (speaking, reading, writing), Math and sciences, European culture and many other useful classes are prepared for you, in order to get ready for the ride of your life- your university studies! This super intensive program is not for the faint-hearted, but it is the best investment that you can do for your future in such a short amount of time.

What makes this program super intensive?
More subjects, more classes, both English & professional subjects (almost the entire 2-semester foundation curriculum is packed into this 1 semester)
