There are several lists and rankings out there showing which countries have the best developers in the World. And it’s not a surprise for us- but Hungary is on most of the computer programming top expert lists.
For some, it might sound surprising, but it’s a very clear trend it the World: Eastern-Europe can frequently be found in all the top spots of different lits.
One of the most commonly cited ranks is HackerRank, which discusses the question “Which country would win the Computer Programming Olympics”. According to their results based on developers solving regular programming challenges on ther website, Hungary is in the top 5 in many skills, including ranking nr.3 in Java, nr.3 in C++, nr. 1 in Tutorials and nr. 5 in overall ranking.
Other lists also mention Hungary in their top positions, such as the PentaBlog list of 2019, where the company listed Hungary in the 3rd place, just behind Slovakia and Czech Republic. According to this list, Eastern-Europe has a huge advantage, because of the availability of the most modern technologies and a very large number of tech startups in these countries.
